Shah Rukh Khan Tops Indian Celebrity Taxpayers with Rs. 92 Crore, Followed by Vijay at Rs. 80 Crore and Salman Khan at Rs. 75 Crore: Report

In 2024, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the highest taxpayer among Indian celebrities, according to a report by Fortune India. The beloved actor has made a remarkable contribution to the tax landscape this year, outpacing other well-known figures from both the entertainment and sports arenas. Thanks to his recent blockbuster films—PathaanJawan, and Dunki—which have not only captivated audiences but also generated impressive revenue, Khan’s tax payment stands at an astonishing Rs. 92 crore. Following closely behind is Vijay, a prominent Tamil actor whose consistent success has garnered him a dedicated fanbase and significant earnings.
His latest release, GOAT, which hit theaters on September 5, has further solidified his status as one of the top earners in the industry, leading to a tax contribution of Rs. 80 crore.Salman Khan remains a powerhouse in the Indian film industry, with his upcoming film, Sikandar, generating immense anticipation among fans. His substantial earnings this year have resulted in a tax payment of Rs. 75 crore.Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor, has also made his mark with a tax contribution of Rs. 71 crore. In fifth place is celebrated cricketer Virat Kohli, who has paid Rs. 66 crore in taxes.
Ajay Devgn ranks sixth with Rs. 42 crore, followed by MS Dhoni at Rs. 38 crore, and Ranbir Kapoor at Rs. 36 crore. Hrithik Roshan and Sachin Tendulkar each contributed Rs. 28 crore.Beyond these top-tier celebrities, various actors, comedians, and sports figures have also made substantial tax contributions. Kapil Sharma paid Rs. 26 crore, Sourav Ganguly Rs. 23 crore, and Kareena Kapoor Khan Rs. 20 crore. Other notable contributions include Shahid Kapoor (Rs. 14 crore), Hardik Pandya (Rs. 13 crore), Kiara Advani (Rs. 12 crore), and South stars Mohanlal and Allu Arjun, who each paid Rs. 14 crore. Pankaj Tripathi and Katrina Kaif contributed Rs. 11 crore each, while Aamir Khan reflected his enduring earning potential with a tax payment of Rs. 10 crore.
