Not only has he managed to dominate the Hindi box office, but he has also successfully curbed the South Indian films’ stronghold, at least for this year. While Bollywood films have been struggling in recent years, South Indian films have been flourishing, gaining immense popularity at the Hindi box office.

In 2023, SRK unleashed his inner demon as he conquered the South Indian film market. His films, including blockbusters like “Leo” and “Jailer,” along with “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” set the box office on fire. These films were in high demand, selling like hotcakes, and the numbers they generated were unimaginable.

By the end of 2023, with just three films, Shah Rukh Khan amassed a staggering worldwide gross collection of over 2500 crore rupees, with a net collection of 1300+ crore rupees in India alone. With these impressive numbers, the superstar surpassed the total worldwide gross collection of all Tamil and Telugu films individually.

SRK had an extraordinary run at the box office in 2023, starting with “Pathaan,” which grossed 543.22 crore rupees in India and 1069.85 crore rupees worldwide. This was followed by Atlee’s “Jawan,” which grossed 640.42 crore rupees in India and 1163.62 crore rupees worldwide. SRK’s final release of the year was “Dunki,” which collected 211 crore rupees in India and 422.90 crore rupees worldwide. In comparison, according to various data and figures from tracking sites, Tamil films grossed 2160 crore rupees worldwide, while Telugu films grossed 2300 crore rupees worldwide in their respective languages throughout 2023. Interestingly, Bollywood films collectively grossed around 2124 crore rupees internationally. Out of this, Shah Rukh Khan’s contributions with “Pathaan” (412 crore rupees), “Jawan” (406 crore rupees), and “Dunki” (176.78 crore rupees) accounted for a staggering 994.78 crore rupees, which is an impressive 46.83% share of the total!
