Since then, Dinoo and Amar have approached SRK with multiple project ideas, ranging from horror comedies to fantasy and adventure films, aiming to gauge his interest in various genres. One notable project that Maddock Films proposed to Shah Rukh Khan is Chamunda, which is scheduled for release in 2026. According to well-placed sources, Khan was offered the lead role in this film, which is intended to be pivotal in expanding their horror-comedy universe. A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “With Amar Kaushik at the helm, Maddock was enthusiastic about casting Shah Rukh Khan for Chamunda alongside Alia Bhatt. However, things didn’t pan out as expected.”The source elaborated further, noting that Shah Rukh Khan expressed a desire not to enter an already established universe. Instead, he prefers to create a new world in collaboration with Maddock and Amar Kaushik.
He has requested that the duo return to him with fresh concepts and explore genres that have yet to be tackled. As a result, the two are now on the lookout for new names for Chamunda, with hopes of teaming up with SRK in the coming years on something innovative.It’s important to note that Chamunda was just the first of several subjects that Dinesh Vijan presented to Shah Rukh Khan, but the creative alignment did not materialize this time.
