Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set on co-producing a horror series for the streaming service giant Netflix. As per the sources, this will be a horror series titled Betaal that will be written and directed by Patrick Graham and co-directed by Nikhil Mahajan. It will be co-produced by Gaurav Verma, Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix. Betaal is a seven-episode web show that is based on Bilal Siddiqi’s bestselling book with the same name.
Graham had been known earlier who helmed Radhika Apte-starrer Ghoul for Netflix.
This series is also reportedly to feature Vineet Kumar Singh and Aahana Kumra amongst the others however; the official announcement is slated to be made soon.
This will be counted as the third piece of content that will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment for Netflix, after the masterpiece of Bard of Blood that features Emraan Hashmi, and Class of 83 with Bobby Deol.
Class of 83 is directed by Atul Sabharwal. The film subjects the story of an upright policeman-turned-police instructor whose students tend to grapple along the complexities of honour, morals and devotion towards their own nation.
Very recently, Netflix had announced the premiere of Bard of Blood on its official platform on September 27.
The official logline of this web series reads, “The story is about four Indian intelligence officers belonging to the Indian Intelligence Wing (IIW) who are compromised, before they can relay an important piece of information to India. They get captured and are about to be decapitated. The stakes are high.”
