Saroj Khan is no more as she passed away this morning at Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra due to cardiac arrest. She was admitted last month due to some issues, while she tested negative for the COVID 19 virus. Talking about the funeral plans, her daughter Sukaina Khan informed the media that it is expected to be carried out at Malad Cemetery today in the presence of close relatives and friends. However, the prayer meeting will be held next week.
Talking about her death, she met the cardiac arrest at around 2.30 am and finally passed away in the morning at 7. Her career lasted for more than four decades and she has worked with more than 2000 songs in her life. She had worked with actresses like Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi directing their movies in the eighties and nineties. She was awarded thrice for her contribution in Bollywood by the Indian Government.
She started working as a child artist at the age of three, while her first break in Bollywood came in 1974 with the film Geeta Mera Naam, but got fame with the song Hawa Hawai song in 1987 with the movie Mr. India. She was born Hindu but later turned Muslim while working under film choreographer B Sohanlal. The two got married when she was 13 and he was 41. Her last song in Bollywood was from the film Kalank in 2019 called Tabaah Hogaye featuring the Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit. Hearing her death news, Madhuri Dixit tweeted saying that she is devastated with this news.
