Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 marks the return of megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the angry and revengeful man. Apart from him, Amit Sadh, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam among others are also a part of the movie. The film also showed growth on Day 3 making its total to INR 6.85 crore. Sarkar 3 released in around 1425 screens in India. The other film releasing the same day directed by Akshay Roy and written by Suprotim Sengupta, Meri Pyaari Bindu is set in Kolkata and narrates the love story of a writer Abhimanyu Roy (Ayushmann Khurrana) and an aspiring singer Bindu Shankarnarayanan (Parineeti Chopra).
The film opened to a slow start and has till now earned INR 6.50 crore in its first weekend. It has shown growth on Day 3 as it collected INR 2.5 crore at the Indian market on Sunday. The film released in around 750 screens which are comparatively half of the screens been given to Sarkar 3.
Interestingly, both the films are into neck and neck battle as they raked in INR 2.50 crore on Day 3. On Day 2, the collected INR 2.25 crore at the box office. It’s just the opening figures which have made Meri Pyaari Bindu take a backseat. On the first day, Meri Pyaari Bindu minted INR 1.75 crore where Sarkar 3 stood at INR 2.10 crore at the Indian market.
