Saregama Removes Songs of Fawad Khan–Vaani Kapoor’s Abir Gulaal Following Pahalgam Attack

The upcoming film Abir Gulaal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, has found itself in a precarious situation, especially in light of the tragic attack that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. Following this incident, there are growing concerns that the film’s release in India may be in jeopardy. Recently, it has come to light that the film’s music, managed by the audio company Saregama, has been removed from various platforms.
According to the popular Bollywood portal called Bollywood Hungama, the film’s jukebox was uploaded to YouTube and other music platforms on April 19, coinciding with a grand music launch event held at Global Village, Dubai, which was well-received. However, in the aftermath of the attack, calls for a ban on the film’s release in India have intensified, prompting Saregama to take precautionary measures. The source elaborated that Saregama likely decided to pull down the jukebox due to concerns about potential backlash.
As a result, the film’s songs, previously available on YouTube and various music streaming apps, have been removed, and Saregama has deleted promotional posts related to the film from their social media channels. An industry insider remarked, “It was always going to be challenging for Abir Gulaal to secure an Indian release. There were hopes for a resolution as conditions appeared peaceful, but the recent horrific terror attack has significantly altered the landscape.”
Earlier today, the above said Bollywood portal reported that Abir Gulaal may face delays and might not meet its originally scheduled release date of May 9. The situation remains fluid, and audiences will be watching closely to see how the film’s fate unfolds amidst the ongoing tensions. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
