Plot:

The film starts and we are introduced to Arjun Kapoor’s Los Angeles-based character Amreek Singh. He owns a company named Gently Gently with his fiance and business partner Radha played by Rakul Preet Singh. The film moves with a major fight between Radha and Amreek which apparently turns into their breakup. Cut to India where Amreek’s family lives her grandmother Sardar Rupinder Kaur played by Neena Gupta, expresses a desire to visit the house she built in the 1940s with her husband Gursher Singh played by John Abraham in Pakistan. Meanwhile, she is suffering from a tumor that is non-treatable according to the doctors. Now Amreek’s father calls him to India hoping that he would convince Sardar not to go to Pakistan as she is unwell.

Amreek who is also suffering from heartbreak understands Sardar’s pain and decides to take her to Lahore. However, even after his lot of effort, his grandmother is not allowed for the visa. Helpless Amreek now decides to move the entire house to India for Sardar as she wants to step into the home. What follows is the chaos and madness in the whole film.

Review:

Sardar Ka Grandson has a very unique concept with some old plotlines. The film could have achieved heights with the concept but poor direction and writing have pulled the film backward. First, let’s talk about the actual protagonist of the film who is Neena Gupta. She has proved that how an experienced senior actor can win hearts with her magnificent performance. Arjun Kapoor’s role was well created, however, his poor performance made it worse. Rakul Preet Singh looked good in the film, but her character was lazy writing, hence, she adds nothing good to the film

Final words:

The songs of the film are good, you can enjoy them even without watching the film. It is supposed to be a happy-go-lucky family entertainer but it eventually gets a little boring after a point. Even though Sardar Ka Grandson does not offer a lot, you can still watch it with your family and have fun.
