Inspired from the current rate of success of sequels in Bollywood (Dedh Ishqiya, Ragini MMS 2, Bhootnath Returns 2 and so on), the director Deepak Shivdasani is back with the sequel of his movie Julie which was released in 2004. Neha Dhupia created a stir playing the role of a courtesan in the film.
Now, After 10 years, Deepak Shivdasani is planning its sequel starringa newcomer Sakshi Choudhary. Sakshi Choudhary, the winner of Gladrags 2011 is a former model who made her debut in acting with the South Indian movie ‘Potugadu’ in 2013. Young and Pretty Sakshi will soon be seen playing the lead role in Hera Pheri 3 opposite John Abraham. The movie will be directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. Firoz Nadiadwala has signed a 3 film contract with her, International Hera Pheri being one of them.
Coming back to the sequel of Julie, at first Sakshi was apprehensive about her role in the sequel as the role of Neha Dhupia was very controversial and steamy in Julie but after hearing the script she agreed at once. “It is a performance-oriented film, not the kind of character a newcomer gets to play,” says Sakshi. It will be the story of an actress, not a courtesan unlike its prequel.The role is apparently inspired by Rekha.
When asked about her views regarding skin show and exposure in the film, like a tinsel town perfectionist she answered, “It is a glamorous role but there’s nothing vulgar.” Also there is a buzz that Sakshi would be required to do many bold scenes, including riding a motorcycle in a bikini.
