Sanjay Leela Bhansali next film is not a period drama with Salman Khan
As per the recent buzz, we hear Sanjay Leela Bhansali make a film with Salman Khan. It is now officially confirmed as the filmmaker talked about making a film with the star. Talking about the same, many expected the film to be a costume drama, but as per the director it is something else and has nothing to do with costumes. Talking about the film a friend close to Salman said that though Bhansali is known to make costume dramas, but all his films with Khan has not been a costume drama. These include Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Khamoshi and Saawariya too is not a period or costume drama.
In fact, all his movies with Salman Khan have been modern love stories. He said that the casting of the film seems to be interesting. Of late, the Khans have failed to impress the box office. SRK has been failing ever since his film Jab Harry Met Sejal, Fan and now Zero. Even Salman Khan’s last movie Race 3 had gone bad over the box office and underperformed. Yet we have a section of the community in B Town who feel that the Khans are likely to go a long way.
Now, talking about the Bhansali movie with Salman Khan, the filmmaker has always evolved the scripts for the actor over time. Also, Bhansali with too many period dramas is supposed to take a break from such costume films and try something new rather casting Deepika and Ranveer for every other film. Bhansali has done enough of costume drama, and now it seems that with Salman Khan he has something new to try. Even the trade pundits feel that its high time he should come out with some creative changes in his style of filmmaking.
