Sanjay Gupta is returning with the Gangster film after 6 years

Ganesh Jain

It’s been six years when we have seen Sanjay Gupta on the silver screen in the negative avatar. The last time we saw him in this avatar was in the film Shootout at Wadala which dealt with the killing of a gangster in the eighties and nineties era. The story talks about the time when Bombay was into the conversion of Mumbai and when many mills were seen shutting down followed by the killings of many businessmen. There seemed to be a strong nexus of police, politician, with the mafia world that prospered over the landscape of the city.

Talking about this venture, the filmmaker stated that he has been intrigued a lot by this idea and it talks about a number of events that have occurred at that point of time. He said he has collated the data of Bombay turning into Mumbai and now seen changing things in the right way. So, based on the data he has jotted down the script and is all set to fix things right. He further said that he is the stage of finalizing the script followed by fixing the star cast for the same.

He said that the film is likely to hit the floor next month or in the month of August this year. He had done a couple of films earlier including Shootout At Wadala starring John Abraham along with Jazba released in 2015 giving the comeback of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan over the silver screen with Irrfan Khan along with Kaabil with Hrithik Roshan. Stay tuned to know more about the film and others only with us.
