Sanjay Dutt about his post-cancer-recovery journey & return to the K.G.F 2 shoot
As the nation is gripped by the K.G.F: Chapter 2 fever, Sanjay Dutt, who plays ‘Adheera,’ Rocky’s enemy in the film, had an unbelievable trip filming the magnum opus; one that was nothing short of inspiring.
He was diagnosed with cancer during the filming of K.G.F: Chapter 2. But the iconic superstar showed that he had a warrior’s spirit both on and off-screen. Then returning to the set with vigour and strength as soon as he healed.
What’s more inspiring is that KGF was not only his first film after battling cancer. But it was also one with a lot of action. Sanjay Dutt’s first scene after returning to the site was a high-octane action scene. And the actor pulled off like a pro.
While undergoing treatment, the celebrity worked hard on his fitness levels and lung expansion exercises, to the point that his doctors and medical specialists were astounded by his workouts and rapid recovery.
Director Prashanth Neel of K.G.F: Chapter 2 was concerned about the actor’s health. He insisted on hiring a body duplicate for some parts, Sanjay Dutt chose to do them himself and left everyone speechless.
Talking about his post-recovery journey and return to the K.G.F: Chapter 2 shoot says Sanjay Dutt, “I started getting back into my training schedule as soon as doctors and my body could allow it. I have been leading a fairly disciplined life since my recovery. So while the journey has been challenging I have loved every part of it. As I said earlier I have been blessed that I had Maanayata and the kids by my side constantly, cheering me on. Other than my wife being my biggest strength and my kids’ motivation, team KGF was very supportive and accommodating. Prashant’s concern was my health and comfort…. mine was Adheera!”
