Alia-Ranbir wedding: Karan Johar reveals a sweetest incident from the couple’s Mehendi ceremony
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding is still the talk of the town. Every single detail about the ceremony including photos and videos have gone viral. It was a small family affta and only close friend families were present at the ceremony. A filmmaker who is like a father figure to Alia was also in the guest list.
On the set of Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan, the filmmaker recently revealed a hilarious incident that occurred during Alia and Ranbir’s mehendi ceremony. In an Instagram video shared by Colors TV, comedian and host Bharti Singh can be seen teasing Karan about his “Pinky” appearance (Karan wore a pink sherwani at the wedding.)
The clip continues, Parineeti Chopra, who is one of the judges, took Karan Johar’s hand and said, “Pehle main aap logo ko ek bohut sweet cheeze dikhaun (I want to show you something)” and then she showed everyone Karan’s mehendi-the design on his palm was spoiled.
Karan Johar then added, “I want to tell what happened with me at the mehendi ceremony. I had applied mehendi for the first time. I am not used to mehendi on my hand, and it was very hot too.”
He continued in Hindi, “Maine mehendi laga di aur phir mai apna paseena pochne laga. Mai bhool gaya mere haathon mei mehendi thi, toh saari mehendi jo hai mere sarr pe, mere maathe pe, mere chehre pe lag gaya and immediately mujhe wash karna padd gaya. Jo Alia ki makeup karti hai wo andar legayi meko and mujhe pata nahi kya kya lotion daal dia mere chehre pe warna poora henna jo hai na mere chehre pe hota (I forgot there was mehendi on my palms and wipped my sweat. When I realised, mehendi got smeared on my head, forehead, and face. I had to immediately wash it. Then Alia’s makeup artist took me inside and applied some lotions on my face. Otherwise the entire mehendi would have been on my face.)”
The pre-wedding ceremonies for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor began on April 13 with the mehendi ceremony. The couple got married on April 14 and held a post-wedding party on April 16.
