Salman Khan Threat Case: 32-Year-Old Rajasthan Man Arrested in Karnataka, Handed Over to Maharashtra Police; Claims to Be Fan of Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi
A 32-year-old man from Rajasthan, identified as Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, was arrested in Karnataka for allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Authorities reported that he was handed over to the Maharashtra Police on Wednesday.According to Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar, the arrest was made based on intelligence from the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). “We apprehended one individual in Haveri Town and transferred him to the Maharashtra ATS today,” Kumar stated. Police sources revealed that the suspect had been living in various locations across Karnataka before he settled in Haveri about six weeks ago. “He was working at construction sites and residing in a rented room in Gowdar Oni,” they noted.
A police insider explained that the accused made the death threat while watching a regional news channel. He called the Mumbai Police control room and issued the threat directly to Salman Khan. Described as a daily wage worker, he claims to be an admirer of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi; however, a thorough investigation and interrogation will be carried out by the Mumbai Police. “Our team was responsible for his capture and transfer,” the source added.In his threat message, he stated, “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he must come to our temple and apologize or pay ₹5 crore. If he fails to comply, we will kill him; our gang is still operational.” The caller initially claimed to be the brother of the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
A case has been registered against him at the Worli police station.As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that the accused had links to Karnataka, prompting the Worli police to deploy a team to apprehend him. He was arrested late on Tuesday and subsequently taken into custody by the Worli police after questioning. The accused has since been presented before a local court for a transit remand and is being transported to Mumbai.On the professional front, Salman Khan is currently engaged in filming for Bigg Boss 18 and his upcoming movie Sikandar, despite facing ongoing death threats. He was recently seen in a cameo as his famous character Chulbul Pandey in the post-credit scene of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.
