Salman Khan on Lack of Bollywood Support for His Films: “Maybe They Think I Don’t Need It”

Salman Khan’s latest film, Sikandar, has faced challenges at the box office since its release on Sunday. Despite the superstar’s various promotional efforts, he expressed disappointment over the perceived lack of support from the film fraternity. Khan noted that some of his friends believe he doesn’t need their backing, but he emphasized that everyone, including himself, requires support for their films. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Salman stated, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think that I don’t need their support.) But, sabko zaroorat padti hai. (Everybody needs support, including me).
“To promote Sikandar, Salman engaged in a lighthearted conversation with fellow superstar Aamir Khan and director A.R. Murugadoss, alongside his father Salim Khan, who shared his favorite films featuring both actors. During the trailer launch for Sikandar, Salman addressed the media regarding the 31-year age gap between him and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. He humorously remarked, “They say there is a 31-year difference between the heroine and me. Check the video getting viral at the moment:
If the heroine doesn’t have any problem or her father doesn’t have any issue, then why should you?”Salman continued the playful banter, adding, “And when she (Rashmika) gets married and has a daughter who becomes a big star, we will work together again. We will definitely get the mother’s (Rashmika’s) permission!”In addition to Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, Sikandar features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in significant roles. The film was released in theaters on March 30.
