Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: Mumbai Police Probes Possible Involvement of Too Many Suspects

What began as a straightforward robbery-gone-wrong has evolved into a complex investigation surrounding the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Initially expected to conclude quickly, the case has taken unexpected twists, particularly following the actor’s return to his residence. After revealing that the intruder was spotted near his son Jeh’s room, speculation has arisen that the incident may have involved kidnapping. Recent findings have intensified concerns, with reports indicating that the Mumbai police suspect the involvement of multiple assailants.
The police have presented their suspicions to a Mumbai court, focusing on a suspect named Vijay Das, also known as Shariful Mohammad Amin Fakir, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national apprehended in Thane City. Investigators have confirmed his presence at Saif Ali Khan’s apartment by matching his fingerprints to those collected from the scene. However, they report that the suspect has been uncooperative during questioning.
Moreover, the police have expressed their belief that more than one individual may have been involved in the attack. As a result, the court has granted the police additional time until January 29, extending Shariful’s custody to facilitate further investigation. The incident occurred on January 16, when Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his Bandra residence between 2:00 and 2:30 AM, sustaining multiple stab wounds.
He was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Initially, investigators suggested that the actor was injured while defending his family during a robbery. After his discharge from the hospital on January 21, Khan assured fans of his recovery, but the evolving nature of the case continues to draw public attention and concern.
