Saif Ali Khan Attack Case: Police Detain Suspect, No Arrests Made Yet

On January 17, a man has been detained in connection with the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, following a careful review of CCTV footage by the police. Footage from Friday morning showed the suspect being escorted to the Bandra police station. However, authorities have yet to confirm whether he is the individual who broke into the actor’s residence and assaulted him the night before. Reports indicate that no arrests have been made so far regarding the stabbing and trespassing.According to recent updates, police believe the suspect changed clothes to avoid identification and was last seen near Bandra railway station shortly after the incident. Following the sighting, the police formed 20 teams to analyze technical data and engage their network of informants to track down the perpetrator. Search operations have also been conducted in Vasai and Nalasopara.

Investigation Insights

Investigators have concluded that the intruder entered ‘Satguru Sharan,’ the 12-story building in Bandra where Saif resides in a four-floor duplex, with the intention of committing burglary. Authorities suspect that the intruder was acquainted with one of the household staff members, which may have allowed him to bypass the CCTV cameras in the lobby. Familiarity with the building’s layout reportedly helped him scale an adjacent compound wall and use the fire shaft to access the upper floors.

Details of the Break-In

The break-in on the 11th floor lasted approximately 30 minutes. During this time, Saif and his younger son Jeh’s nanny attempted to fend off the attacker but were injured in the process. Recent CCTV footage shows the intruder descending to the sixth floor via the staircase before escaping. Investigators believe he used the fire shaft to exit the premises, avoiding capture by evading the main lobby and entrances.

Saif Ali Khan’s Condition

While the nanny sustained minor injuries while trying to protect the family, Saif suffered six wounds during the confrontation. He underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on January 16, and doctors have since confirmed that his condition is stable.
