Sagar Sarhadi the Silsila and Kabhi Kabhi writer no more
A sad news there for the B Town lovers as the film writer and filmmaker Sagar Sarhad is no more. He passed away at his residence in Mumbai and is cremated today in Sion. As per his nephew Ramesh Talwar who is also a known filmmaker informed about the news and said he passed at hsi residence near Sion at the age of 88. As per him, he passed just last midnight when he was not responding.Â
He said he passed away peacefully at his place. As per reports, he was born in Ganga Sagar in Baffa close to Abbottabad city which is now in Pakistan. He adopted the title Sarhadi soon when he left his place and moved to Delhi at the age of 12. He started writing short stories in Urdu and soon worked as a play writer in Urdu. Later he started working for Bollywood working as writer.Â
He worked with Yash Chopra to give hits like Kabhi Kabhi and Silsila with Big B and Rakhee to name a few. He worked with Chopra as screenwriter and gave many movies like Chandani, Sharabi, Bazaar and many more. He has been a known writer and filmmaker in B Town. His death seemed to have disturbed many actors and filmmakers of his time. Javed Akhtar was quick to respond on his death, check his tweet:
