It was in September 2018, when he heard Mahesh Bhatt announcing for the sequel called Sadak 2. He confirmed at the same time that he would be directing the sequel with half-sisters Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt coming together for the first time to share the screen. The film will also have Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the film. He did not speak when the film will start, but as per the latest reports, the makers are now willing to hit the film on the floor this coming month. It will hit the floor amidst the IPL and election season.
Alia Bhatt who is gearing up for her next film Kalank with Varun Dhawan will be free by this month and would be then getting involved in the sequel that will start in the month of May 2019. When asked about the same, Alia said that she would be starting up the shooting from the next month. Also, the sources close to the film revealed that the makers would recreate the iconic song called Tumne Apne Banane in the movie. The original song was seen on Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the prequel, and it was a ballad dance. The voice was given by the singer Anuradha Paudwal.
Now, talking about Sadak 2, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur would be playing the young coup0le role, while Sanjay Dutt would be playing the original role called Ravi in it. The film will be produced under the banner Vishesh Films owned by the Bhatt brothers, and it is slated to hit the screens by next year on 25th March 2020. Alia has a couple of other films as well including Inshallah, Thakt and now Sadak 2 and she is likely to do justice to all her films.
