Rupali Ganguly reveals Anupamma is my comfort Zone, my alter ego, somebody who knows me inside-out

Anupamma starring Rupali Ganguly is currently ranking top in the TRP charts. The audience has been loving the show and her character. Recently the actress opened up about her character. She said, “When I signed for the show, I knew the protagonist is a mother and this story is about how mothers are under-appreciated and how her husband is also having an affair outside and she is oblivious to the fact and she still takes everything that comes her way with a smile and doesn’t let any negativity affect her. So, the beauty of the role was such that I was dying to portray it and I did not know that the show would be called Anupamaa till the promo came out so that was a ‘sone pe suhaga’ for me”.

Talking about if she feels any pressure portraying such a perfect character she said,k “No, I did not feel the pressure as the character is so well-edged. The pressure was not from the producers or anybody else but the pressure was from me. I had to deliver because this was my golden opportunity for me to come back. I doubt any other actor is as blessed as to get such a fantastic and fabulous comeback. So, for me, I did put a lot of pressure on myself. I still put in a lot of efforts. I am constantly learning from the new breed of actors on my sets like the way they perform. Like Paras, he is so natural”.

She further added, “When you see Paras performing, there is so much to learn. I still feel like a newcomer on my set. What we used to do 20 years back, television has become so different now. It’s become more comfortable. There is no pressure as such but there is some pressure to play Anupamaa. But the pressure is worth it as the way it is getting love from people that I have no reason to see any negatives in this”.
