Rohit Shetty Confirms Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey Won’t Join Singham’s Cop Universe: ‘Two IPs, Two Universes, One Epic Crossover Film

Rohit Shetty recently shared his thoughts on the exciting prospect of uniting two legendary characters, Chulbul Pandey and Bajirao Singham, emphasizing their distinct origins. In an interview with India Today Digital, he explained that this collaboration would yield a unique film, distinct from his established cop universe. Shetty remarked, “We’ve been developing our own characters, intertwining their stories to create a universe. However, these two intellectual properties (IPs) have never crossed paths before. If everything goes well and the audience enjoys what we create… this is unprecedented and offers something fresh for everyone. Importantly, Chulbul doesn’t belong to this universe, nor does Singham venture into his. It’s about two separate IPs and universes converging for a single film.

”He also mentioned that the project will require time before production begins, clarifying, “This will be a standalone film, not one where all characters come together. It will certainly take a considerable amount of time to develop.”In a recent post-credits scene of Singham Again, Salman Khan made a fleeting appearance, delivering his famous line, “Swagat nahi karoge humara?” This moment hinted at the upcoming film, Mission Chulbul Singham, but many fans were left feeling underwhelmed by the brief cameo.Discussing the rationale behind Salman Khan’s appearance,

Shetty explained, “We adhered to an international format where, at the end, you might see a photo or receive a phone call. The main storyline had already wrapped up, and we didn’t want to include Salman just for the sake of it. It’s better to feature him in a small role rather than a lengthy sequence that might prompt viewers to question, ‘Why him, zarurat nahi thi (it wasn’t needed)?’ That could have been a significant misstep.”Shetty also revealed that he had been mulling over this idea for several years, and when he approached Salman Khan, the star quickly agreed to participate in the film.
