Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn announce Singham 3 through Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi

Singham, a cop entertainer starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Rohit Shety, was released in 2011 and was followed by a sequel, which became the forerunner of what is now known as the cop universe, with Simmba and Sooryavanshi joining in. There has been ongoing talk regarding the third instalment of the Singham series for the past few years, but no official announcement has been made.

With the debut of Sooryavanshi in theatres today, it is now confirmed that Singham 3 will be next in the cop world. “Singham was set in Goa, followed by Singham Returns which went a notch higher with the premise being set in Mumbai. And now, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn are all set to take things to the next level as Singham 3 is set again the backdrop of terrorism with the protagonist travelling all the way to Pakistan to grab hold of terror outfits,” revealed a source close to the development to pinkvilla.

“The story takes off from where Sooryavanshi ended. The lion-hearted cop will be off to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to trace down the head of terror outfits, who have an eye to destroy India from the world cup,” the source added.

Apart from Ajay, the two other officers, Simmba and Sooryavanshi, are also slated to appear in Singham 3, though no specifics have been released. In the coming weeks, Rohit and Ajay will make an official statement about Singham 3. Once Ajay finishes his current slate of films, the film will begin production in the fourth quarter of 2022, with a tentative release date of November. Meanwhile, Rohit will finish his comedy adventure Cirkus with Ranveer Singh and then manage his OTT platform production with Sidharth Malhotra.
