The B Town has a busy I Day with two movies releasing this Wednesday. This certainly include the Akshay Kumar film Gold. It took almost six months for Akki to release his next film after we saw his last movie called PadMan. The film was a decent release with a nice story but as always the Akshay Kumar film, it went close to 80 crore. But with Gold, this could be slightly a different story as it has several favorable factors that helped the film to perform over the box office. The film had a decent buzz in the media ever since it was announced and secondly the buzz was also seen due to the decent ratings of the film, which came as the trailer was released in the media. Well, let’s see how things went.
As the film released on I Day, which is one of the biggest holiday in India, it is attracted the audience far and wide giving the occupancy report to around 70 to 80 percent at most of the places. The film’s occupancy report even reached to 100 percent in the evening with the collection went on to get a decent figure. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for Akshay Kumar went to score around 11.25 crore, which is indeed a good figure. With similar pace, the makers are now expecting to see a good collection at the end of the first weekend for the film. Since it is an extended weekend as the makers released the film on 15th August, it is certainly going to touch more than 60 crore.
Also, the ratings have created a good word of mouth buzz in the media, which means during the weekdays, the film has some decent collection reaching on an average of 8 crore, while the Sunday is expected to score around 12-14 crore. This will certainly going to give a handsome figure at the box office. The makers were able to promote the film better over the media, while the story of the film also have impressed and so was the performance of Akshay Kumar who and Kunal Kapoor both have brought up the film with their performance and dialogues.
