The veteran B Town actor Rishi Kapoor on Friday was honored at the opening ceremony of first BRICS Film Festival by Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod the state minister for information and broadcast. He was honored for his contribution in the field of Cinema.
This festival happens to be the part of the special event that is planned in a run up to 8th BRICS Summer, which is held in India this time. The said event got its stat at the Siri Fort Auditorium Complex with the Screening at the National Award winning filmmaker Jayaraj’s multilingual movie Veeram.
Speaking at the occasion, he said he might be politically incorrect but he is not a politician and then thanked the group for honoring him with this award. He is the son of the veteran actor Raj Kapoor and his family has contributed a lot in the industry.
In the presence of Indian Cinema for more than 100 years, the Kapoor family has contributed a lot for not less than 88 years in the industry. This event has been initiated by the Indian Prime Minister and its summit was held in Russia. Some of the movies, which were screened included Bajirao Mastani and Baahubali: The Beginning. The festival will end on 6th of September.
