Review

As you start watching this movie, you would be impressed with its stunning opening shot, which is seen drawing the version of Mumbai. This is not a solo attempt from any director from outside to showcase the life of Mumbai but there are several instances when we have seen the city and the plight of the city with the lens of an outsider. The fact is the filmmaker has been applauded for filmmaking skill sets and content of the movie. He has the skills of making even the debutant perform in his movie, so Ishaan who is among the novices in B Town still was able to surpass the expectations of the audience. So except a few challenging sequences, he seemed to be a revelation while playing the character of Aamir.

On the other side, Malvika while playing the character of Tara (Aamir’s sister) too was honest in her performance, she was seen with both being passionate and melodramatic.  And talking about the Veteran South Indian actress called GV Sharada (the 3 times National Award winner) was splendid in her performance giving another mesmerising performance to life. Tannishtha Chatterjee went on to give solid performance yet seemed to be an effective role. Meanwhile, don’t miss the child artistes who have been simply endearing.

Talking about the other aspects of the film, everything went smooth boosting up the entertainment value of the film. The cinematography of Anil Mehta is simply delightful as he was able to breathe life into the vision of Majidi adding some stunning visuals, which will have some lasting impressions. He was able to portray an altogether different look of the city giving all together a different look. And the best part is the melodious music by A R Rahman and you never know he gets another Oscar for the film.

Beyond the Clouds – The Last Word

You may find the content of the film might remain repetitive, but the take by the director with strong performances are worth noting. The film ‘Beyond the Clouds’ another distinguished entry in his filmography.
