Ravi Chhabriya Opens Up About Deleted Varun Dhawan Scene in Bharat

Ravi Chhabriya, director of Detective Sherdil and a seasoned assistant director, recently spoke exclusively with Bollywood Hungama about his experiences working with Salman Khan and shared insights about a deleted Varun Dhawan cameo in Bharat.
Before Bharat’s release, rumors circulated that Varun Dhawan had a cameo alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. However, the scene was ultimately cut from the final film. When asked if this deleted scene might be released on platforms like YouTube, Ravi said, “I guess it’s up to producer Atul Agnihotri sir.
I have no idea if they plan to release it. We shot the scene, but during the final edit, it was decided to remove it.”Ravi described the scene as a lighthearted moment set during Bharat’s stint working on an oil field in the Middle East.
He added, “It was a fun scene where Salman sir’s character and Varun’s character come together. Dono panja ladate hai (they have a playful fight).”Ravi’s career includes assisting on several Salman Khan films such as Sultan (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and Bharat (2019).
He also worked on two Yash Raj Films projects—Aurangzeb (2013) and Kill Dil (2014)—and fondly recalls his time with the legendary Yash Chopra. “I remember Yash Chopra sir taking evening walks around the YRF studio. It was a dream to be around such incredible people and their energy,” Ravi shared with a smile. When asked about his current connections with YRF,
Ravi responded warmly, “Yes, I’m still in touch. I grew up there; it was like a university for me. I stayed nearby and worked with them for almost 8-9 years. They were like family.”Through his journey from assistant director to filmmaker, Ravi Chhabriya’s stories offer a fascinating glimpse into Bollywood’s behind-the-scenes world and the collaborative spirit that drives it.
