Ranveer Singh to Play Lord Shiva in ‘The Immortals of Meluha’ Trilogy; Joins Hands with Birla Studios

Amish Tripathi’s famous book series, The Immortals of Meluha, is finally being made into a movie. After years of rumors, reports confirm that Ranveer Singh will lead this massive project. He will serve as both the main star and a co-producer. This is a very big step for the actor.

Ranveer Singh is partnering with Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios to develop this high-budget franchise. The project is being produced under Ranveer’s own company, Maa Kasam Films. The plan is to adapt all three books in the series. These include The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras.

The project is currently in the early stages of pre-production. The team is focusing heavily on creating a large cinematic universe. They want to tell the complete story across three different films. The makers are prioritizing world-building and making sure the script is accurate to the books. Writing has already started for the first part. The team expects to begin filming the first installment in 2028.

Ranveer Singh is expected to play the iconic role of Lord Shiva. However, a director has not been chosen yet. The producers want to finish the screenplay before they hire a creative team. Ranveer reportedly paid a large amount of money to acquire the rights to the trilogy. They are designing the franchise as a massive spectacle for audiences all over the world.

Currently, Ranveer Singh is working on a movie called Pralay with director Hansal Mehta. That film is about a zombie outbreak. Once his current projects are finished, he will shift his focus to the world of Meluha. This transition into the role of Shiva is expected to be a major milestone for Indian cinema. It will likely be one of the biggest mythological film series ever made.
