Kabir Khan’s upcoming directorial ‘83’ starring Ranveer Singh will see the actor essaying the role of the former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev. The film has got a release date and ‘83’ is all set to hit the screens on April 5, 2019. The movie is about the victory of India in the World Cup 1983. Generations of people are inspired by Kapil Dev and Ranveer, who has impressed the audience with his performance in the films, is having high expectations from the viewers for this flick.
Talking about the movie ‘83’, the director Khan said “As a young schoolboy when I watched India win the 1983 Cricket World Cup, I had no idea that from that day onwards Cricket in India will change forever. As a filmmaker, for me, the journey to that win, filled with raw energy and sheer passion of that young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on. And it’s great to have Ranveer come on board to play Kapil Dev, as honestly, I could see no one else for the role, ever since I started finalizing the script.”
