Ranveer Singh Selects His Beloved Character and Shares Insights into Perfecting Accents for Movie Roles
Ranveer Singh is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. He has played a wide range of roles, from romantic comedies to period dramas to action thrillers. In a recent chat with fans, Singh revealed his favorite character of his career so far.
“It’s a tough choice, but I think my favorite character is Bajirao Mastani,” Singh said. “I loved playing this complex and layered character. He was a warrior, a lover, and a father. He was everything I aspire to be.”
Singh played Bajirao Mastani in the 2015 film of the same name. The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was a critical and commercial success. Singh’s performance was praised by critics and audiences alike. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance.
Singh said that he loved the challenge of playing Bajirao. “He was a very different character from anything I had played before,” Singh said. “I had to learn how to fight, ride a horse, and speak Marathi. It was a lot of work, but it was also very rewarding.” He said that he is grateful for the opportunity to play Bajirao Mastani. “It was a dream role for me,” Singh said. “I’m glad I was able to do it justice.”
