Ranveer Singh finally opens up about his terrible casting couch experience, says, “I was called in a dark room”
Ranveer Singh is known as one of the most radiant and lively personalities in Bollywood. The Gully Boy actor has made his name in Bollywood with all his efforts, and very few get the fame that he is getting today. Well, every success comes with compromise and struggle. You’ve probably heard about many celebrities who have faced the “casting couch” in the industry. But do you know that Ranveer Singh was one of those who came across this shameful practice? Well, the actor has now disclosed it after years. He said that a producer asked him to be smart and sexy.
Recently, the actor marked his presence at the Marrakesh International Film Festival, where he was presented with the Étoile d’Or Award at the film festival. During his acceptance speech, Ranveer revealed his casting couch experience in front of the world. He said, “Once a producer called me with a film offer. He sent his assistant and called me into a dark room. That man asked me, “Are you a hard worker or a smart worker?” I don’t consider myself smart, so I told him I was a hard worker. In his reply, he said, “Darling, be smart; be sexy.”
He further added, “For 3 to 3 and a half years, I faced similar things. Now, I felt that this was the time to explain the value of the opportunities I am getting today.” Ranveer also said that the producer even left the dog behind him to have fun. The actor did not give the name of that producer. But it can be said that he is no longer in this world.

Ranveer and Deepika celebrated their anniversary on Monday. The Pathaan actress was busy working in her office due to her professional commitment. But Ranveer, being a great husband, didn’t fail to surprise her. He arrived at her office with flowers and chocolates, all smiles. On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” and “Circus.” “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” is directed by Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh will share screen space with Alia in the film. At the same time, “Circus” is directed by Rohit Shetty.
