Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Ever since the film was announced it gained a lot of limelight in the news. The trailer of the film also gained a lot of appreciation from the audience and the songs are also getting praised. Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the film to hit the theatres. However, according to the reports, the film has landed itself in trouble after a complaint was filed against the makers for cheating. Since Deepika Padukone is one of the producers of the film, even the actress has been dragged into this controversial case.
As per the media reports a Vibri Media allegedly promised a UAE-based financer of high profits after they invested roughly Rs 16 crore in 83 in the film. Because he did not receive what was promised, the businessman went to Mumbai’s Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court and filed a lawsuit against the producers of 83.
It is also stated that their funds were diverted into several deals including filmmakers such as Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Deepika Padukone. The funds were purportedly utilised for the production of Ranveer Singh’s 83 without the businessman’s express approval. According to Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee’s statement, his client has filed a criminal complaint against all of the producers of 83 for cheating and criminal conspiracy.
83, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on the former Indian National Cricket Team, who won the World Cup in 1983. Deepika Padukone will also appear as Kapil Dev’s wife in the film. The film 83 will be released on December 24, 2021.
