‘Rangbaaz’ Season 4 Begins Production; ‘Grahan’ Director Ranjan Chandel Helms New Chapter
ZEE5’s flagship crime drama Rangbaaz is officially returning for a fourth season. A little over a month after its announcement, the series is moving straight into production. Filming begins next week in Bhopal, where the cast and crew will execute an extensive two-month shoot with plans to wrap by November.
Acclaimed director Ranjan Chandel, best known for helming the 2021 crime drama series Grahan, has been brought on board to direct the new season. The makers recruited Chandel to elevate the franchise’s scale through a more violent, brutal, and action-oriented narrative. This project marks Chandel’s first major outing since stepping away from Ekta Kapoor’s The Sabarmati Report due to creative differences.
Mounted on a much larger canvas than previous installments, Rangbaaz Season 4 promises higher stakes and intense conflicts. While introducing an all-new storyline, the show maintains its core reputation for exploring the gritty nexus between gangsters and political strongmen in the Indian heartland.
Actor Mohit Raina steps into the lead role this season, supported by a powerful ensemble cast including Vijay Raaz, Arunoday Singh, Pawan Malhotra, Zoya Afroz, and Rahul Dev. Ashutosh Rana and Manu Rishi Chadha round out the principal line-up, while television actress Kanikka Kapur joins as a key addition following her appearance in Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947.
Produced by JAR Pictures, the new chapter revolves around an ordinary young man with high ideals whose shattered ambitions pull him into the criminal underworld. As shifting circumstances test his resolve, raw ambition dictates his choices, drawing him deeper into a high-stakes world where every action triggers deadly consequences. Rangbaaz Season 4 is set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 in early 2027.
