After Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Neerja’, Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Dhamaka ‘and Sushmita Sen’s ‘Aarya’ filmmaker Ram Madhvani is all set to produce an original web series titled ‘Jallianwala Bagh The Waking Of A Nation’. A trade source revealed to Box Office Worldwide that the film is based on Jallianwala Bagh and will be produced under his banner ‘Ram Madhvani Films’.
A source further informed that “RAM MADHVANI – is soon getting into production this year with his next original web series based on – Jallianwala Bagh- It is tentatively titled “JALLIANWALA BAGH. THE WAKING OF A NATION “. It is based on research from the Hunter Commission that was formed to investigate what happened in Punjab and especially at Jallianwala Bagh. It is created by Ram Madhvani and is one of the projects he is doing that is to be produced under his banner Ram Madhvani Films.”
The news comes after Karan Johar announced a film based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. KJo revealed that the movie is based on real events and it will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. Talking about the same KJo tweeted, “Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens. Directed by @karanstyagi.”
The movie will be based on the book ‘The Case that Shook the Empire’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Karan also mentioned that the cast will be announced soon and the film will go on floors shortly.
