As per the latest buzz in the media about the film A Suitable Boy, we hear that the makers are now expanding their star cast making it ensemble one. The film A Suitable Boy earlier had Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Namit Das, Gagan Dev Riar, Mikhail Sen, Mahira Kakkar and Danesh Razvi in the lead roles. The film is produced under the banner of Lookout Point production and BBC One.
It is based on Vikram Seth’s international bestseller book with the same title. It has Andrew Davies as the scriptwriter. The film happens to be the adaptation based on six parts and it is directed by Nair while it has been shot at various locations including Lucknow and other similar places. The story of the film talks about the spirited university student called Lata played by Tanya. It is set up at the backdrop of 1951.
It revolves around the first elections as to where the nation is heading when the country takes up the first-ever poll in Independent India. The story revolves around the four families in it along with exploring India and its varied culture that has reached its crucial point in its history. Ram would be playing the character called Mahesh Kapoor who happens to be the father of other lead characters called Maan Kapoor. He is a politician contesting in free India.
