Before some days, there were news updates making rounds that the superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are soon arriving with the film ‘2.0’ and it was likely to clash with Akshay’s upcoming film ‘Padman’. The fresh news report revealed that the thriller ‘2.0’ has averted the clash with ‘Padman’ by pushing its release date ahead. ‘Padman’ will now release on January 26, 2018 and ‘2.0’ will hit the screens in April 2018.
The films ‘Padman’ and ‘2.0’ both features Akshay Kumar in lead role and the debate was going on as some people believed that releasing two movies of the same actor on the same day seemed an unprecedented move. This incident has took place in the last one or two decades. Some people were of the opinion that both the flicks belong to different genre so there will not be any problem. Finally, the decision was to avoid clash between ‘2.0’ and ‘Padman’. The another reason for postponing the release date of ‘2.0’ is because the VFX work was is still going on and it will take some more time to get completed.
‘2.0’ is the next instalment of the 2010 blockbuster ‘Robot’ that featured Rajinikanth in double role. Akshay essays the negative role as evil villain in the sci-fi film ‘2.0’ and he is seen in totally different look in it. The film will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions. The grand music launch of ‘2.0’ took place in Dubai on October 27. The event turned mega event due to fabulous star performances.
Helmed by R. Balki and co-produced by Twinkle Khanna, the film ‘Padman’ also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. The film narrates the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented the low priced sanitary pad making machine.
