Ever since the movie Rahasya came into discussion, many people alleged that the story has been inspired from the infamous murder case of Aarushi Talwar. The fact is the movie has the same storyline wherein a young girl is murdered mysteriously wherein the parents are suspected for the murder, which is same as the famous murder case or Aarushi of 2008. However, when asked the director of the movie Rahasya- Manish Gupta, he rubbishes all the allegations that the movie resembled to the story of Aarushi murder case.
As per the sources close to him, the parents of Talwar have approached the filmmakers to make a movie in the perspective of Aarushi’s parents. However, both the director and producer didn’t want them to lose the real objective of the said plot. As per the sources, they simply declined this offer in order to make the movie in alliance with the Talwars. The director is seen repudiating all the similarities between his movie and the real time murder case of 2008. He claimed that the Kay Kay Menon and Tisca Chopra starrer movie Rahasya is murder mystery, which is basically a straightforward whodunit.
He further said that people knowing the novels of Agatha Christie, they would certainly understand that his movie is not being inspired by the said case. He claimed that in the movie, you have a murder and there are several suspects in it, while you would find a Hercule Poirot kind of investigation officer played by the man called Kay Kay Menon.
