R. Madhavan Revealed as the Upcoming President of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) – Details Within

R Madhavan, the actor and filmmaker whose film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won the National Award for Best Feature Film, has been nominated as the new President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Madhavan will take over from renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who served as the FTII President from September 30, 2020 to March 8, 2023. Madhavan is a graduate of the FTII and has been a vocal advocate for the institute. He has also served on the FTII governing council. In a statement, Madhavan said that he was honored to be nominated as the FTII President and that he was committed to “restoring the glory” of the institute.

He said, “The FTII is one of the most prestigious film schools in the world and I am committed to making it even better. I want to create an environment where students can learn and grow and make world-class films.” Madhavan’s nomination has been welcomed by the film industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar said that Madhavan was “a great choice” for the role and that he was “confident that he will lead the FTII to new heights.” Actor-producer Mahesh Babu said that Madhavan’s appointment was “a positive step” and that he was “looking forward to seeing what he does for the institute.”

Madhavan’s appointment is seen as a major boost for the FTII, which has been struggling in recent years. The institute has been plagued by financial problems and faculty strikes. Madhavan’s experience as an actor, filmmaker, and FTII alumnus gives him the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the institute. He is also a respected figure in the film industry, which will help him to build bridges between the institute and the industry. Madhavan’s appointment is a positive step for the FTII and it is hoped that he will be able to restore the institute to its former glory.
