We had a busy Friday yesterday as we got to see a number of films releasing the same day in the B Town. These include Qarib Qarib Singlle, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana and The House Next Door. Now, let’s talk about the way these films have performed over the box office starting with the former the first. Well, Qarib Qarib Singlle starring Irrfan Khan happens to be a comedy drama movie, which had a decent buzz but the way it was expected to performed seemed missing over the box office. The fact of the matter is the film had a low occupancy in the morning and the afternoon show with some amount of escalation seen in the evening shows.
Hence the collection was seen as predicted by the experts and trade pundits of B Town. So, the first day box office collection for Qarib Qarib Singlle is around 2.75 crore, which is supposed to increase by the coming two days in the first weekend collection. The other similar somewhere similar in terms of genre and type of movies we have seen earlier also had similar performances, however, it did well in the single screens particularly in the Northern states. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana netted to around 2.5 crores. And the worst on the first day remained the last film in the list.
The horror film called called The House Next Door though had some amount of buzz in the media with the presence of Siddharth Malhotra, but it failed to translate into moolah. The film is expected to do better with some word of mouth buzz in the first weekend but right now it has a very low collection. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for The House Next Door went on to around 2.0 crore, which was the lowest in the list of films released the same day. Well, the films would remain average grosser for obvious reasons.
