Pushpa 2 Sets New Record with Over 18 Million Tickets Sold on BookMyShow

Pushpa 2: The Rule, one of the most anticipated film releases of the year, has made waves at the box office, achieving remarkable success since its debut. The excitement surrounding the film and the adoration for Allu Arjun among Indian audiences have contributed to its impressive performance. Recently, BookMyShow, a popular movie-ticket booking platform, announced that Pushpa 2 has broken records by becoming the first film to sell over 18 million tickets.
Reports indicate that this unprecedented fan frenzy marks a significant milestone in the industry. Although it is a South Indian film, the prequel, Pushpa, garnered a massive audience in North India. Notably, the franchise even hosted its trailer launch in Patna, a testament to its widespread appeal. With the first installment capturing the hearts of viewers nationwide, the sequel appears to be elevating its popularity even further.
The film follows the story of a small-time sandalwood smuggler and his transformation into a formidable gangster. Rashmika Mandanna reprises her role as Srivalli, while the sequel centers on Pushpa’s reign and his conflict with IPS Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa 2: The Rule was released on December 5 in Hindi and all South Indian languages, featuring an impressive ensemble cast.
In light of the overwhelming response to the second installment, the filmmakers have hinted at the development of a third installment, tentatively titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage. With its record-breaking ticket sales and growing franchise, Pushpa continues to make a significant impact on the Indian film industry.
