If you ever wondered what would happen if Raanjhanaa had a mid-life crisis and transformed into a low-budget pulp novel, Psycho Saiyaan is your answer. Starring Tejasswi Prakash and Ravi Kishan, the series pushes the “obsessive lover” trope into such illogical territory that you’ll find yourself wishing the characters would just stop talking. Set in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, it attempts a gritty, “desi” take on toxic romance but quickly spirals into a series of twists that defy all logic.
The only reason to stick around is the cast, who clearly work harder than the script deserves. Tejasswi Prakash, making her major OTT debut, handles the emotional scenes well but is stuck in a repetitive “damsel in distress” role. Ravi Kishan steals the show with his loud, menacing energy, almost turning nonsensical dialogue into something poetic. Anud Singh Dhaka struggles as a toxic stalker, his character lacking charm and ending up more irritating than threatening.
The series suffers from a severe lack of common sense. It presents a world where everyone acts irrationally, and therapy seems non-existent. The plot feels like a messy copy of Haseen Dillruba without its cleverness, chemistry between characters is weak, morals are flimsy, and despite an authentic Katni setting, the thin script wastes the backdrop.
The verdict: Psycho Saiyaan is a hyper-dramatic, problematic mess that glorifies stalking as destiny and toxic behavior as passion, with no likable characters. Watch only if you’re a die-hard Tejasswi Prakash fan or want to see Ravi Kishan carry a sinking ship. Otherwise, save your time, sanity, and skip this one. You’re welcome!
