Mission Mangal Faces the Wrath at Twitter as #BoycottMissionMangal trends high

Mission Mangal Trailer

This Independence Day, we have two releases in the form of Mission Mangal and Batla House. Although the former was accepted by many for its rich and patriotic content as compared to the other film Batla House but seems that the film has invited the wrath from microblogging site – Twitter. This is because we now see the #BoycottMissionMangal trending on Twitter. The film mired into controversy even before it hit the screens today.

A section on the Microblogging site called Twitter has boycotted the film as they feel that a certain sequence in the film seems to be anti-Hindu. And since then the #BoycottMissionMangal started trending high on the Microblogging site. This all started when an author called Sanjay Dixit went on Twitter claiming that Akshay Kumar in the film has turned like an Islamist proselytizer. He tweeted about a scene from the film where one of the scientist’s son is converting to Islam.

Dixit tweeted calling Akshay Kumar becoming an Islamist Proselytiser as the said person converting to Islam is seen offering Namaz and abusing the Hindu god Ganesha. He then alleged that the funding from Dubai seems to have overshadowed Nationalism as the self-proclaimed nationalist actor now does the opposite work. Soon the tweet went viral of Dixit and was shared a lot on Twitter stating that the film Mission Mangal is ridiculing the Hindu God. No one from the star cast including Akshay has reacted to this controversy. The film has already earned 13 crores with the pre-release booking.
