As Priyanka Chopra gears up for her wedding with the US-based Singer Nick, we also hear another news about her next regional venture under banner Purple Pebble Pictures. We know her company has been making several regional movies including in Marathi, Punjabi and now in Sikkimese movie called Pahuna. The film is a children’s movie and has been in media news as it bagged two awards at the two film festivals like SCHLINGEL International Children’s Film Festival in October 2018. The film got the Jury’s Choice award along with getting the special mention in the category of international films.
The film is directed Paakhi A Tyrewala, and it deals with three kids who are based in a village in Nepal but later had to flee during a Maoist attack to save their lives to Sikkim. However, while doing so, they are lost and then follows the journey of finding each other and their lost parents. The film has Ishika Gurung, Sujoy Rai, and Anmol Limbu in the lead roles. The actor Tathastu was earlier seen in the film called Halkaa released in 2018 and it was directed by Nila Madhab Panda dealing with open defecation. The film had given the Best Child Actor award at the above-said film festival.
Also, talking about Pahuna, it was even got its world premiere at the known Toronto International Film Festival last year in 2017. Madhu Chopra the mother of Priyanka Chopra while talking about the film Pahuna said that this film would remain very special film for her and others associated with their production company Purple Pebble Pictures. She heads the company Purple Pebble Pictures and later said in the press note that when they started to make this film, they never felt that it would be recognized worldwide but it went too far, and they are expecting to reach more audience and reach out to the global audience. The film is yet to release theatrically and it is made a meager budget of 3.5 crores. The makers intend to show the students all across the country.
