Priyamani Joins Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5 as Mumbai Shoot Begins; Reunites with Maidaan Co-Star Ajay Devgn: Report

Actress Priyamani has reportedly come on board Golmaal 5, the latest installment in Rohit Shetty’s hit comedy franchise, marking a reunion with Ajay Devgn after their collaboration in Maidaan. According to Variety India, the first shooting schedule is expected to last around a month. Filming kicked off on Monday, February 23, in Mumbai, with Ajay Devgn set to join the set on February 25. While details about Priyamani’s role remain under wraps, reports indicate she has already started shooting her scenes.

The Golmaal series is one of Hindi cinema’s most successful comedy franchises, known for its ensemble cast and recurring characters. The fifth installment will bring back core members including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Shreyas Talpade. Veteran actors Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, and Ashwini Kalsekar are also expected to reprise their popular roles.

There have been rumors about Akshay Kumar joining the cast, but the makers have yet to officially confirm this. The film’s production is moving forward amid heightened security concerns following a recent alarming incident at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence. Authorities reported that five rounds were fired near the director’s home.

The Mumbai Crime Branch investigation revealed the vehicle used in the firing was sourced from Pune. Officials stated the accused, including Subham Lonkar, intended to create panic in the city. Investigators also disclosed that Rs 40,000 was transferred to one of the arrested individuals, who was in contact with Lonkar via a single messaging app.
