Prime Video Announces Global Premiere of Songs of Paradise – A Biopic on Kashmir’s Trailblazing Singer Raj Begum

Prime Video has revealed the premiere date for Songs of Paradise, a heartwarming and courageous film inspired by the extraordinary life of Padma Shri awardee Raj Begum, Kashmir’s first prominent playback singer. Presented by Excel Entertainment and produced by Apple Tree Pictures Production alongside Renzu Films Production, the film beautifully intertwines music, defiance, and the unyielding spirit of a woman who ignited a cultural movement and empowered countless women in the region.
Directed and co-written by Danish Renzu, with writing contributions from Niranjan Iyengar and Sunayana Kachroo, Songs of Paradise features a stellar cast including Saba Azad and Soni Razdan portraying Noor Begum at two different stages of her life. The ensemble also includes Zain Khan Durrani, Sheeba Chaddha, Taaruk Raina, and Lillete Dubey. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kashmir’s valley, the film is a poignant tribute to resilience, identity, and courage. It will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on August 29 in India and across more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
