Prasoon Joshi pressurised to resign from CBFC giving special treatment to PM Narendra Modi Biopic

The biopic film on PM Modi has been in trouble since the first day. While the film was supposed to hit the screens on 5th April, the opposition complained the Election Commission that the ruling party is supporting the film to propagate the PM and its party. This led to delay in its release and the Censor Board took the decision to avert the film for a week, which finally gave the makers to release the film on 11th April. However, on the other wide, the MNS has demanded to remove Chief of Censor Boad – Mr. Prasoon Joshi as he gave special treatment to the film.

The party alleged that for any film to get the certification, the makers have to submit the movie at least two months before its release, however, Prasoon Joshi was just taken few days to clear the film and helped the makers to decide the release date. Therefore with this special treatment, the MNS demand the CBFC chief to resign from the said position. Also, the Censor Board chief did not give any explanation as to why did he help the film to release with special consideration.

The party claimed that the Censor Board has gone out of the way to release the biopic just to appease the government. We also saw the film having mired with other controversies including putting the names of lyricists like Javed Akhtar and Sameer despite there single contribution towards the movie. While the Congress also has demanded that the film has been made to appease the PM and his party and has been used to propagate him to influence the voters in their interest. The film is now set to release on 11th April and Vivek Oberoi is doing the lead role in it.
