The picture depicts Devdutt Nage as a devoted follower of Lord Ram. Previously, on the occassion of Ram Navami, the filmmakers unveiled a new poster for the film, which features Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman.

‘Adipurush,’ based on the Indian mythological epic ‘Ramayana,’ is the most anticipated pan-Indian mythological picture. Om Raut, who previously handled the historical epic ‘Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020)’ starring Ajay Devgn, wrote and directed the film.

Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana in the new mythological action epic. The film was first announced in August 2020, and production wrapped in November 2021. Adipurush is the most costly Indian film ever, with a budget of over Rs. 600 crores. The magnum opus is slated to release in theatres in IMAX and 3D on June 16 this year. The film is simultaneously shot in Hindi, and Telugu, and it will be released in 15 languages which includes both domestic and international audiences.

‘Adipurush’ sparked a major controversy last year when the film’s first teaser was released, and it was instantly panned by netizens for its unsatisfactory visual effects and Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of Ravana. The teaser quickly became netizens favourite meme material on social media, with many comparing it to the online game ‘Temple Run’ and other cartoon programmes. Because of excessive negative remarks, makers had to finally postpone the film’s release from 25 January 2023 to 16 June 2023.
