When it comes to Tollywood’s most iconic films, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning is without a doubt at the top of the list. The film, which starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Sathyaraj, and Nassar among others, was the year’s highest-grossing picture. The magnum opus shattered numerous box office records and was the first Telugu film to receive a national award.
Rajamouli’s hit film has now been in theatres for six years. Prabhas raises a glass to the entire crew to commemorate the occasion. Prabhas took to Instagram to post a still from the film along with a touching message. He wrote, “#6YearsOfBaahubali: Here’s to the team that created waves of cinematic magic all across the country and the world.”
He also mentioned Rajamouli, Shobu Yarlagadda, and the rest of the cast and crew.
Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are producing Baahubali: The Beginning under the company Arka Media Works. The movie had a massive budget of Rs 180 crore. It was the most costly Indian film ever made at the time. Following the phenomenal success of the first film, the sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, was released, breaking even more records.
The National Film Award for Best Special Effects and Best Feature Film went to Baahubali: The Beginning. It was the first Indian film to receive five Saturn Award nominations, including Best Fantasy Film and Best Supporting Actress, at the 42nd ceremony.
