Post Tandav OTT platforms to lose more web series in the near future
It’s an operation to clean up the Indian government agencies who have been vocal against various web series becoming popular on the different OTT platforms. After Tandav became the object of hate in the North Indian cities and towns, we now hear that more such web series are likely to be targeted in the coming few weeks and months that are ready to get streamed on the popular streaming platforms. These include the real life characters and religious content based shows.
As per Bollywood Hungama reports, the filmmakers are now facing a tough time when they plan to come out with their new web series and shows. All you get the space is for the major mythological series now, which seemed to be getting a safer choice for many. Now, anyone who is seen raising objection is the other shows that somewhere or the other have issues of mythology in it. Like for example the name of Shiva of a character in Tandav was the reason since he was seen as a JNU student raising his voice on falsehood and fake things.
Thus the insiders feel that there are many more web series and shows who would be targeted in the coming few weeks and months that would end the life of free spirited content on the digital platforms. All thanks to the voices being heard about the fact that the central government is now coming up with legislation to curb the direct speech and free speech based content on the streaming mediums.
