Political correctness is not often great: Luv Ranjan on the misogyny shown in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

It was in the year 2011 when Luv Ranjan embarked with Pyaar Ka Punchanama and it soon turned an instant hit which was the second movie with Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha and the trio have done four films since their first film Akaash Vani. With the success of PPK at the box office many were surprised after all it was the 5 minute monologue of Karkit that was liked by many given by Kartik that turned to be a crux of the movie. Soon we saw the same turning out to be a cult-status of its own. The latest from the trio called Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety soon entered into the same brand of filmmaking.

With the success of his recent release along with the previous versions of PKP many now believe that the filmmaker is often seen making the woman like a cardboard cut-outs. In the recently released movie, the perspective from the male seems to be undeniable. Recently, Ranjan Luv was seen posing the same set of questions and then he talked about the alleged misogyny in the recent movie along with the actor and the out of box filmmaking style. But when he was asked about the same, he opened up in his own ways.

He then talked about why he takes the approach of a misogynist he said people tend to become too serious when it comes to B Town and thus are seen intellectualizing something, which is not just mean to be intellectualized. He then said that the humour has its own space when it comes to the society and the films are to be kept at the end. The political correctness for films are not often healthy thing for films. He then said if had made films with reversing the gender roles in his movies, then not much have been said by the people. He then said that he does not have a general feeling that all women are bad but have taken up three bad women to make his film.
