‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ Bags a Whopping 17 Million USD getting the Best Opening Day Collection at 2017

For the makers of Tiger Zinda Hai, it was a spirited year-end victory as their film has done a tremendous business for them. Both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have to celebrate this day in a big way since their film has emerged as the biggest grosser of 2017. The movie had collected 20 million USD since past 21 days over the box office. The global sales of tickets were huge for any film released in the previous year. Both the actors in the lead role had their previous movies – Tubelight (Salman Khan) and Jagga Jasoos (Katrina Kaif) had been an average grosser who now have all the reason to have a gala time.

The film was opened in 4,600 screens all across the nation which happens to be a sequel to the spy drama Ek Tha Tiger of 2012. The sequel has the best opening of 2017 with the collection reaching to $5.31 million on this Friday that has surpassed Golmaal Again releasing last Diwali with the earning of $4.7 million. The other film that did a huge business includes the S.S. Rajamouli’s film called Baahubali 2 that has gained 6.4 million USD on its first day. However, this is not a B Town film but was dubbed in Hindi, hence cannot be called as the bonafide Bollywood offering.

The sequel is all set to recover the cost of its production $23 million in the first week. The Christmas and the New Year has proved beneficial bet for the film getting a huge start. As per the trade pundits and the experts, the sequel is expected to reap around 45 million  USD, which is around 300 crore in Indian currency at the end of the January. On the other side, the prequel too has done a good business collection a massive collection of $5.15 million on its opening day.
